Supergirl (2026)
Supergirl is a 2026 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Directed by Craig Gillespie and produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran, it is the second film in the DC Universe (DCU) and part of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. The film is heavily inspired by the comic book miniseries Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.
Plot Overview
Unlike her cousin Superman, who was raised on Earth by loving parents, Kara Zor-El grew up on a remnant of the destroyed planet Krypton, watching everyone around her perish. Now 23, Kara spends her days partying across the galaxy with her pet dog Krypto. Her life takes a dramatic turn when a young girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll seeks her help to avenge the murder of her family by the ruthless space pirate Krem of the Yellow Hills. Initially reluctant, Kara is forced into action when Krem attacks her ship and fatally poisons Krypto. To save her dog, Supergirl and Ruthye embark on an epic interstellar journey of vengeance, crossing paths with the dangerous bounty hunter Lobo.
