Minions & Monsters is a 2026 American animated comedy film directed by Pierre Coffin. Plot Overview
Finding themselves in 1920s Hollywood, our heroes James, Henry, and Ed break away from their Minion tribe to pursue their newfound passion for filmmaking. Aiming to create a spectacular monster movie, they use a magical spellbook obtained from an old warlock boss to summon real monsters to play the villains. However, chaos ensues when the monsters, including a Cthulhu-resembling entity named Goomi, run amok, forcing the Minions to band together to save the world from the cinematic mayhem they have unleashed.

The film opened in the United States over the extended Independence Day holiday on July 1, 2026. Despite lower-than-expected opening figures for the franchise, the movie debuted at number one domestically, accumulating an estimated $61.4 million over its 5-day holiday frame and pulling in strong international numbers for a worldwide debut of nearly $160 million.
